LIONS

The abrupt retirement of center, Frank Ragnow hurt the Lions. We'll see who wins the starting center spot between Graham Glasgow and Tate Ratledge.

The biggest worry is if Jared Goff's play drops off to pre Ben Johnson. Before Ben Johnson was the offensive coordinator,  Goff had a 99.9 passer rating. In the three years with Johnson as the offensive coordinator, Goff had a 117.2 passer rating. Last year Detroit was first in points and second in total yards. It will be hard for new offensive coordinator, John Morton to replicate that production and success.

NUGGETS

The LA Clippers beat down the Denver Nuggets last night to take a 2-1 lead in their series. The Clippers were better than the Nuggets in almost ever statistical category which showed since they won by 34 points.  Nikola Jokic had a triple double, but only scored 23 points which is below his season average of almost 30 points per game. Jamal Murray and Aaron Gordon both score in double digits, but the rest of team didn't help too much.  Denver and LA were 2-2 in the 4 games they played against each other this year.

NUGGETS

The Denver Nuggets may be the team that can take out the Oklahoma City Thunder. The Nuggets did bring the Thunder to seven games in the Western Conference Semifinals this past post season.  They resigned Bruce Brown, signed Tim Hardaway Jr., Aaron Gordon will be healthy heading into the season, and Nikola Jokic will be a top three MVP player. Losing out on Jonas Valanciunas sucks, but maybe they'll be able to sign Bradley Beal if he becomes available?
