JJ MCCARTHY

Not since Cam Newton did it in 2011, had a quarterback making his NFL debut thrown for multiple touchdowns and rushed for a touchdown. 

JJ McCarthy did that in 13 minutes.

A quarterback hasn't brought his team back to win from a 10 point deficit in the fourth quarter on the road since Steve Young did it in 1985.

JJ McCarthy did that too.

NFC NORTH

The NFC North is very interesting with the every team having a winning record.  Packers lead the way with a 3-1-1 record, followed by Lions at 4-2, Bears at 3-2, and Vikings at 3-2.  Green Bay's defense is giving up 12 points...in the fourth quarter! The Packers are also averaging 7.5 penalties per game. The Vikings are giving up 132.2 rushing yards per game. JJ McCarthy's completion percentage needs to improve (if he takes back the starting QB1 job from Carson Wentz). The Lions defense is letting their opponents convert 40% of their third downs. The Detroit defense also gives up a touchdown once their opponent gets in the red zone 66.7% of the time. Bears are averaging 1 turnover per game. Chicago's defense is giving up about 30 points per game as well. Things these teams need to clean up to separate the pretenders from the contenders.

BENGALS

The Bengals have Trey Hendrickson holding out and still haven't signed first round pick, Shemar Stewart. What is going on in Cincinnati? They are going to waste Joe Burrow's and Ja'Marr Chase's prime years. Trade them to a team that will maximize those prime years.

PACKERS

Talk about how quickly things can change. With about 12 minutes left of the third quarter Green Bay was beating Denver 23-14 and they had the ball. In that situation, if the Packers don't have two key playmakers get hurt, they probably win that game. But injuries are part of sports. Jordan Love then throws an interception and wide out Christian Watson gets hurt. Shortly after that Micah Parsons tears his ACL and is out the rest of the season. The Packers go on to lose the game against the Broncos and fall all the way down to the 7th seed in the NFC. Now they still can win the NFC North and possibly get the number 1 seed, but they lost Parsons who led the league in quarterback pressures before getting hurt.  Jeff Hafley will need to get creative without Parsons the rest of the year. It may be that the Packers may need to do what they did most of the time when Rodgers was their quarterback, put up points and outscore their opponents in a shoot out.
